MAKING OF ROGUE 3

To achieve the mood of a warrior is not a simple matter. It is a revolution. To regard the lion and the water rats and our fellow men as equals is a magnificent act of a warrior’s spirit. It takes power to do that. – Carlos Castaneda

It all started when I underwent four days of fasting and meditation. I remember that on the last day I was staring at the hypnotic moon for hours. It was at this moment that I got one of the many messages of my spiritual journey – Everything will be OK.

It did. I am now slowly walking on a different path. A different frequency. A different timeline. I am slowly creating my own world. I am carefully deconstructing the world I used to live. I am coming up with new meanings and new ways of “seeing” my environment. One of which is the idea that we are ONE.

In 1968 astronauts who manned the Apollo 8 mission towards the moon described a shift in awareness after seeing the earth floating in outer space. They called this phenomena as The Overview Effect.

The Overview Effect is seeing our planet as a spec, fragile ball of light, “hanging in the void”, shielded and nourished by a paper thin atmosphere. After seeing the earth from afar the astronauts realized that there really are no national boundaries, the division of people due to conflict is less important and that the world itself is a living, breathing organism.

From out there on the Moon, international politics look so petty. You want to grab a politician by the scruff of the neck and drag him a quarter of a million miles out and say, ‘Look at that, you son of a bitch.’

Edgar Mitchel, Apollo 14 astronaut, speaking in People magazine on 8 April 1974.

It is necessary for us to be able to view things on a different perspective so that we may be able to transcend our consciousness and achieve the full potential of our oneness. We are all in this together as part of the tiny ball of light.

I dauntlessly acknowledged my role as a shaman to be able to open my eyes and discover more about the world we are living in. It took me almost ten years to be able to get at this point. It was a hard-earned journey with painful struggles and the trials never stop there. In fact it is harder now that I’ve learned so much. And I am aware that it is not in this lifetime that I will ever be able to grasp all of it.

I’ve experienced The Overview Effect in my journey to Oriental Mindoro. There, I saw the world’s beauty. I saw the world’s devastation. I saw how we are all connected.
